We Need Your Prayers To Go This Month-Please, Pray For Us

We were two weeks late in going to see the chiefs and elders in this village due to lack of funds but by God's grace we were able to raise some funds that could help us to first go see the chiefs to ask for permission to hold the Gospel Campaign in their village, which we did last Saturday and Sunday May 11 and 12 respectively because we did not meet the chief when we went the Saturday. The program is coming on the last Friday and Saturday of this month but if a funeral they told us of came on on these two days, then we will have to postpone our program to the first Friday and Saturday in June (meaning that we will hold two campaigns in June 2013. We have been given the approval and all the necessary requirement have been fulfilled. Now we are to raise money for the hiring of the Amplification, generator, chairs, truck to convey the machines from a nearby town (because there is non in the village), bus or taxi to convey our team and materials, etc. Please, pray for us and do also help us with some Bibles.

HOW OUR CHURCH PLANTING DREAM CAME ABOUT

In 2002, we realized through our traveling to the various villages and towns that there were no congregation of the Lord's Church in most of the towns and villages we go, and that in some big towns, there would be only one church so The Truth took it upon itself the task of planting a church in every village where there is no congregation of the Lord's church. By God's grace, we have since been able to plant churches in villages and still going though it is very difficult with no regular support from no one. Keep praying for us.

HOW WE WORK

We go monthly (normally on the last Friday and Saturday of the month), to hold a Mass Public Campaigns in villages and towns. We either go upon invitation by an individual, a group of persons or by the leaders of the towns or villages, or when we deem it necessary to. We officially or traditionally see the chiefs and elders of the town or village for their approval before we go get the program run. When permitted, we pay what is required of us traditionally to the chiefs and elders, pay for the fee for the gong-gong beater (depending on how many times we want it done till the set date). We will then find out if there is an Amplification Machine in the village to hire to reduce cost of transportation (since we don't have one) if not we will have to hire one from a nearby town or from our town. We also hire generator, chairs, vehicle to convey us and our team to and from the village for the 2 days, food and medicine, etc. We keep going (twice a week or more) to teach the new converts we win till the next month when we would have to go for the next campaign then we handover to the church (if one is planted to a leader we choose to lead this newly planted church with a monthly token of financial support from us (if nobody pledges to support). At times, there is the need to buy clothing and other things for the poor converts in very appalling situation, and also buy Bibles in our local languages and sometimes English Bibles if we do not have them from donors. Apart from this monthly programme, The Truth visit brethren in their homes, engage in house-to-house soul winning activities, etc.

THESE 3 WOMEN BAPTIZED

THESE 3 WOMEN BAPTIZED After listening to the teachings on God's plan of salvation at church as visitors, they confessed their sins and faith to be baptized so the brethren begged of me to do that for them since I have not been doing it. Fortunately for us, the photographer was also available so he went with us into a stream where we had to dig into somewhere near a bridge in the stream to get enough water to baptize these 3 women because there was no enough water anywhere. They were baptized, 3 of them; as you can see in the pictures below. One of the sisters has had a problem with the husband saying that if she will worship in the Lord's church then she should pack her things and leave. The issue has been tackled but the man is saying what he is saying and the sister is also saying she will continue to worship then to opt that for marriage. Please, pray for her.

About Ike & Lee Pertey; Missionaries to Rural Ghana

ABOUT IKE AND LEE PERTEY; We were both baptized at age 13 in 1979 and have been winning souls since then and we have been married since 1982 We were the youngest married couple in the church and we did that to avoid fornication. Lee and I were baptized at age 13 during the time of Missionary ED Mosby (if you know of him). I was so young that any time I asked to be baptized, this Missionary would say no because he said I was too young. So after 7 times of rejection to be baptized, I one day went those who were to be baptized that day when the Missionary didn't come, and I was baptized by one Brother Peter Offei. On that same day back home from the waters, I took my Bible and went to town teaching people on one-on-one basis and, PTL I won three souls baptizing them by a brother in Christ. After Lee and I met and got married in 2002, we have been winning souls together from house-to-house, school-to-school and in public places. We travel to do most of these things and we bear all the cost ourselves. We need your prayer, support and encouragement.
